Consulting
Construction Consulting
Hiring someone else to build, and want a second set of eyes? We review bids, inspect work in progress, and help homeowners hold a project to what was promised.
What consulting covers
- Bid and proposal review — what's included, what's missing, and where the allowances hide
- Contract and scope review before you sign
- Site inspections at key milestones: framing, rough mechanicals, waterproofing, close-in
- Punch-list walkthroughs and close-out review
- A second opinion when a project has stalled or the work looks wrong
Who it's for
Homeowners managing their own renovation, buyers evaluating a house that was recently 'flipped,' and anyone who's been handed three wildly different quotes and can't tell why.
A strict separation
We never act as both consultant and contractor on the same project. If we're reviewing someone else's work, we have no interest in taking the job — that's the only way the advice is worth anything.
How it works
Consulting is billed separately from construction, either per visit or per review. Tell us where the project stands and we'll tell you what kind of review makes sense and what it costs.
Need an independent opinion?
Send us the bid, the plans, or a few photos of the work in question and we'll tell you what we'd look at first.
